Can I adjust myself?

Can I get chiropractic care or massage if I've had back surgery?

Yes, we will avoid areas of your spine surgically modified. However, surgery often causes instability above or below the involved level. These "reactions" will be the focus of your chiropractic care. As with any medical condition, it is important to tell your care provider of specific medical conditions.

Can infants and children be treated at your office?

Absolutely! There is not age limit to receiving chiropractic treatment. Often colic, unusual crying, poor appetite, ear infections or erratic sleeping habits can be signs of spinal distress. Newborn and child adjustments are gentle. As a rule, no more pressure than you'd use to test the ripeness of a tomato is involved.

Can seniors and elderly be treated at your office?

Of course! Seniors are encouraged as well to visit our office. Many seniors report increased energy and vitality by regularly consulting their chiropractic doctor. Often chronic lifelong problems can be resolved with nutritional supplements and regular spinal care. Regardless of your age or condition, a better working spine is good for your health.

If I feel better, should I stop having treatments?

When you are feeling better, it's tempting to discontinue your care. However, discontinuing care could lead to a needless relapse. Often people think that "health" is how you feel. But how you feel is a poor judgment of your health. Those with undetected cancer, hypertension, heart disease and even tooth decay are suffering from ill health even without obvious symptoms. Without proper care and maintenance we can experience premature aging and a host of stress-related health problems. Just as you daily eat nutritious food, brush your teeth and get plenty of rest, include periodic chiropractic treatments as part of your routine.

Can I adjust myself?

It is not recommended. Often, people can make their own joints "pop", but that is not an adjustment. Remember, not all adjustments will make a sound, so it shouldn't be used as a guide to the quality or value of the adjustment. Even our doctors consult a colleague to receive their chiropractic care.
